I can't believe that it has been 7 years since this picture was taken. I looked at these pictures this morning and thought "WOW, I look so young!" Then I thought "HOLY COW! I was so young!" Sometimes Glenn and I reflect on our lives and we both wonder what we were thinking. We had known each other for a year (which by typical Mormon BYU-IDAHO standards is 10 years) I was only 18 (one month before my 19th birthday) and he was only 22. We were so happy, so in love, and perfect for each other. I laugh now at some of the things I thought were important then. Like forcing my little sister Cherie to wear nylons because I thought it would make the pictures look better (it did Cherie, I was right, but am still sorry I forced you)
(You look so beautiful Cherie!)When I look back and reflect on that day the first thing I think of is where I was able to be marry Glenn. We were married here:
in the Oakland California temple. The same place my parents were married 23 years earlier. This place was a big part of what made this day so special. Every wedding day is special to every bride, but being married in a temple. . . words cannot describe. I know Glenn and I were married in the right place, at the right time. When my Grandma Dickson first met Glenn (at my brothers wedding) the first thing she asked was "What the big idea? Why the big hurry?" It made both of us laugh. About 4 years after that, one of the last times I saw my wonderful Grandmother, she said to me, "I am so proud of your choices, especially your choice of husband. He is wonderful."
Glenn and I have had a wonderful first 7 years of marriage, and I know the next 7 years will be even better!
Happy Anniversary Glenn
You are the love of my life,
You make me feel beautiful everyday,
I never dreamed that marriage would be this wonderful.
