Utah

A few months back my mom and I found this amazing deal on tickets from Lubbock to Salt Lake. So I bought them for January and looked forward to my trip to Utah to see my family. Unfortunately, Glenn was could not come because of school, so I made the trek with 2 kids all by myself. It was not as bad as I thought it would be. Olivia had a little break down when she realized that Glenn wasn't coming with us, but that soon passed. So Isaac had his first plane ride (at 10 months old).
We were lucky that none of the 4 planes we flew on were full, so we had a whole row all to ourselves. Isaac had the most fun with the people behind us or across the isle. He is such a happy baby and loves smiling at everyone.

After we got to Utah we went to a museum with my mom. Olivia loved it.She asked about every animal we saw (and there were hundreds), but her absolute favorite were the "tiny baby deer." She didn't want her picture taken at all except this one. She thought they were so cute.Isaac, however, was only happy if we were moving. He still wasn't feeling 100%.

It didn't snow while we were there, but there was snow on the ground. So Olivia got to go play once. All of her cousins were gone, so she really didn't have anyone to play with. So she didn't last long. This pink snowsuit was mine when I was her age. It was fun to see her in it, but she did not like it one bit. She said it was "to funny." I am not sure what that meant, but she didn't like it.

We had so much fun with everyone, but I think the best part of the trip had to do with my little sister Cherie. Cherie and I have always gotten along and had fun talking together. We stayed up late a few nights just talking about life. But the most exciting thing in her life right now is that she is engaged.
His name is Mark and they look so cute together, don't you think? I have not had the opportunity to meet him yet, but I know he is a great guy because Cherie chose him. I am so excited for them to start their life together. They are going to be married in the Draper temple, but he is in the military. So they don't have a firm date set yet. Anyway, while I was there I got to go wedding dress shopping with her and all but one of my sisters.
It was so much fun, but we definitely missed Tiffany. Olivia had so much fun. She loved all of Cherie's "princess" dresses. I wasn't going to post any pictures of her in the wedding dresses, but since she already did on her blog I decided I would too. So our first stop was David's Bridal. Cherie was really getting an idea of what KIND of dress she wanted so my mom can make it.
Olivia just loved standing on the podiums in front of the mirrors trying on "pretend" princess dresses. Half the time she wasn't even paying attention to Cherie, she was just looking at herself in the wall-to-wall mirrors.
Our second stop was Alyssa's Bridal. They specialize in modest wedding dresses. However, most of the dresses were (I hate to admit) really weird or ugly, and we had more fun making fun of the dresses that choosing one. My cousins Dana and Kim came with us that time and my dad stopped by for a little bit.

Cherie looks so pretty in all of the wedding dresses. I know she is going to be a beautiful bride.

You can't have a Giboney get-together with out throwing together a quick quilt and tying it while watching chick flicks.
All in all, it was a great trip. We were all ready to go home and see Glenn. I was so happy to be able to see my family and especially to go shopping with Cherie. I know that I probably won't see any of them again until her wedding. We can't wait for Mark to be our brother-in-law.
