Today is Valentine's Day. A very happy day in our house. I don't know why but Olivia is very VERY excited for this day. I suppose it is because we took time to make Valentine's for some of her favorite people (I couldn't put them in the mail until today so they will be late). Aunt's and Uncle's beware!!!! The best part about making these Valentine's with her was that she can officially write her own name without help. Glenn and I were so excited for her when she wrote it the first time. She does really really well until she gets to the "A." Her A's are usually upside-down and occasionally illegible but she thinks it is awesome! Every 30 seconds this morning she would come running up to us, give us a hug and a kiss and tell us "Happy Valentine's Day mommy (or daddy), I love you." She is so cute.

I was kind of excited for Valentine's Day this year too. Glenn and I have never done anything huge of this particular holiday. We get each other a card, we have a mutual understanding that I will get flowers on the 15th because they are 50% off and I cook a fancy dinner. Even before we had kids we avoided going "out" on Valentine's Day. It is so crowded and not very personal. However, because Olivia is growing up I decided to prepare and decorate for today. So here are my decoration creations:
My Fabulous Felt Pillows
This one is not my favorite and Glenn hates it . . .

It is supposed to be a heart but you can't really see the actual heart.
This one is okay but is a filler pillow (I felt like I needed an odd number).

And this is my favorite. It wouldn't matter whether or not Glenn liked it
(which he does or at least says he does) because I think it is wonderful!

One of the best things about these pillows is . . .

I MADE THEM WITH ZIPPERS!
Now I have decided that I need holiday pillows for every holiday and I can just use the same pillow forms and only a minimum amount of storage space!
Isn't that fantastic!!!! Well I think so at least.
Last but not least was the bane of my existence for about 72 hours.

I saw this on a blog and loved it. I decided it couldn't be to hard so I went to it one Saturday. Do not be fooled by its appearance or simple instructions. THIS THING TAKES FOREVER! Don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE IT but I will never make one again. It took way too long.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Valentine's day full of love!
