In my last post I mentioned that I was playing catch up this weekend on projects. So after the Halloween bags I finished 2 more projects. I only finished 3 this weekend but I am very pleased with the out come.
Project #2: A Pea coat for Olivia. Glenn wanted to see if I could make Olivia's coat this year. So we found a cute pattern (which he picked out) some cute fabric (which he picked out) and some buttons (which he picked out)... he takes credit for a lot of things. I however did all of the sewing.
It was harder than I thought it was going to be but I like how it turned out. The pattern wasn't the hardest part it was the instructions. Instructions for patterns are always difficult to read and understand but for some reason this one was incredibly confusing.

I had to bribe her with ice cream but she finally posed for me with the jacket on:

Project #3: I had some fabric left over form the jacket (seriously the pattern was really confusing!) So I decided to make a dress out of what was left. So project #3 was a little unexpected but it turned out very cute. I am sure she will never wear them together, and I will need to find a shirt to go underneath, but it is a cute fall play dress.
top detail (which I know you can't see very well)
So I made a serious dent in my to do project pile (which Glenn is grateful for). Now onto a few more!!!!

Your sewing skills are amazing! And I think it's miraculous that you do this with two kids at home.

Oh. My. Goodness. I am SO impressed! I can't wait to see the coat in person. You had better bring it at Christmas.

I just said to Janessa "I want to be like my sister when I grow up for this reason..." and then showed her how adorable this is!

Glenn! What marvelous style! Do you watch Project Runway by chance? Or associate with anyone that does? It is really starting to show in your impeccable fashion sense.

to the seamstress... DARLING! way to go getting a dress and coat out of all that material. I love O's poses in the coat too... so cute!
