Apple Orchard

I know I have promised this post to many of you over a week ago. I am sorry. I have been such a procrastinator lately. I have been working on a few projects so I suppose you could blame it on that, or the fact that I have two kids and my life is busy, but really I had time I just didn't do it. I think I need to make a goal to stop this before it gets bad. I really just need to stop being lazy...

Well now that you have heard my pitty party I can get on to the blogging. Two weeks ago we went to the apple orchard right outside of Lubbock. We have heard about it a lot and really wanted to go so we picked a weekend and went. It was very wet and rained for the first 30 min we were there. But we waited it out and got lots of apples
Olivia loved pulling the bucket that we put the apples in, that is until we filled it with 11 lbs of apples and then it was to heavy!



Olivia is making a really funny face in this picture but we wanted to show off our rain boots! My dreams finally came true and Glenn bought me a pair of rain boots. It floods a lot here in Lubbock and I have wanted a pair for the last 2 years. So Glenn finally let me have my wish! For our last year in Lubbock I have the most beautiful zebra stripped rain boots!

We had a blast at the orchard walking around and eating apples. When we got home we decided to make apple butter (which neither of us had ever had). We also decided to try our hand at canning. So after making some delicious apple butter, we canned 12 jars and you know what... IT WORKED!!! We are very excited to can something else now, we just don't know what.
