Christmas Time!!!!

I really haven't taken many pictures this Christmas season. We did have family pictures taken (which was an experience with 20 people) but we have just been visiting with family the whole trip. So for those of you who care, here are a few pictures from Christmas eve and Christmas day.

Tiffany and Olivia decorating sugar cookies

Angela's birthday party (Angela was born at 8:45 on Christmas eve) The Christmas she was born we had to wait until 2 to open presents that year. It was miserable

Olivia and Kayla were our wise men for the nativity. I just finished making these new wise men costumes for this years nativity.

Another one of Olivia's favorite presents.

No Giboney get together is complete without a two hour game of risk. This game lasted 2 hours and then Shellie wanted to go home so we had to take multiple pictures of the board so that we could continue in a day or two. The game is between Me, Glenn, Justin, and Elise...we will so who will win!!!

Once There Was A Snowman

We made it safely to Utah and have had fun so far. My Grandpa hasn't gotten here yet, but the rest of my family has. It has been almost two years (I think) since we have all been together. There has always been at least one person missing for school or something else during other family gatherings.
Besides all the cousins, Olivia's favorite thing has been the snow. She always asks to go outside and play. Luckily there are a lot of snow clothes here for her to stay warm in.

Olivia before we discovered all of the snow clothes. My mom did buy her an adorable pair of princess snow boots, which she loves, and her hat and mittens.

Olivia has also helped in the building of 2 snowmen! This is the first one that was more her size.

The Builders (Faith, Glenn, and Olivia)

The mini-snowman

Glenn and David Building the bigger snowman. (David split his pants in the process!)

Olivia in real snow clothes. These kept her much warmer.

The awesome, amazing, big snowman!

Two Projects and an Apology

Before I say anything about my projects, I first have to apologize to my sisters (two sisters in particular). They have corrected me and let me know that they approve of the name we like. So I guess I can put it out there now. We really like two different names right now. First on our list is Isaac. Which is the name I thought that none of my sisters liked... I was mistaken. The second name is Samuel. So our sons name will be either
Isaac William Hasler
or
Samuel William Hasler
let me know what you think!
Now on to the projects! The other day I was cleaning out my closet and came across some yarn that I had left over from previous project. I looked at it and thought to myself "I bet I could crochet Olivia a hat or two out of this!" So I did. I looked up a pattern on line and after I was finished went through my left over ribbon stash and came out with these 4 adorable winter hats!

I was pretty excited with how cute they turned out. My favorite is the red one but I love them all. Olivia thinks they are cute too. She can't wear the same one out twice. She is constantly changing her hats for each outing.
My second project is a Christmas present for Olivia. Right before we moved to Lubbock my mother bought a princess chair for Olivia. She loves this chair and it has been well used because she loves it. So for Christmas I decided to recover it and she will get what she thinks is a bran new chair. Here is what it looked like before I recovered it...

and here is what it looks like with the new cover...

I was pretty excited with how it turned out. I wanted a darker color so I wouldn't have to wash it as often. So that is why I chose this fabric... that and because I loved the fabric. She still has the princess cover over it but after Christmas it will be a new and improved chair! I hope she likes it!

A Sad Day

It was all my fault and I knew it was from the moment Olivia came up and told me, with a smile on her face...

"Mommy I cut my hair!"

I almost immediately started crying. She has the most beautiful long hair and I have always loved it. I started doing things with her hair when she was just 2 months old and no matter how much people told me it would all fall out, it never did. I love doing her hair and she loves to have me put pretty bows in it, or put it in sponge curlers so that she can be a "princess" the next day. She didn't cut it all the way to her scalp, which I suppose I should be thankful for. She just cut off 3 inches off the front.
That is just a small chunck of the hair she cut off. It was probably 3 times that much. So I decided, tearfully, to tapper the front and cut maybe 1-2 inches off the back. This is a bad picture but this is one side where she cut off the 3 inches. You couldn't see it as well after I got it wet.
Right before I cut her hair.
The back after I cut it.
The side after I cut it

All of the hair I cut off.
I suppose I should admit that her hair looks very cute now. I really like how it looks but I have learned my lesson. Never, Never, NEVER leave scissors down where your daughter can get them without you knowing.

It's Official!!!!

Well I had my doctor's appointment on Wednesday and our little baby is not shy to let everyone know the news....

IT'S A BOY

Just in case you don't know what your looking at, the doctor circled the important part. So in honor of our little boy we are going Green and Blue...well mostly green. I made a quilt for my little sister Tiffany and her little boy with frogs on it and loved it so much that I think I might make one for myself. So that is why there are frogs all over our blog now. I think green is the perfect color for a boy! We are so excited to welcome him into our family. We have thought about a couple names and are pretty set on one, which none of my sisters like. So for now we will just call him _____ William Hasler. Glenn and his twin brother decided when they were 13 that they would name their first sons after each other. William's son's name is Benjamin Glenn Hasler. So our little boy's middle name will be William. Here are a couple pictures of me at 23 weeks. I can't believe I am that far along already! We are so excited!

Christmas Time!

We had a wonderful thanksgiving at Glenn's parents house this year but unfortunately I didn't take any pictures so we are skipping Thanksgiving and going strait on to Christmas. I never grew up with snow at Christmas but have spent the last 5 Christmas' with a snow. However I thought this year I wouldn't have to see the snow until we drove up to Utah this month... I was seriously mistaken.
Someone needs to tell mother nature that this is Texas and it just shouldn't be below freezing for more than 48 hours. The snow even stayed on the ground for a while too! When I took Glenn to school this morning it was 18 degrees! I just didn't think Texas could get, and stay this cold.
I was very ready for Christmas to come this year. I didn't think it could come fast enough. Christmas marks our half way mark in Law School. That's right everyone today Glenn has finished his last day of classes for this semester, which means that he is half way through all of the classes he has to take before he is done with Law school. So in Honor of Christmas here is our mantle with our stockings.

Please take notice of the cosy fire. There is usually a fire in our wood burring fire place and I love it. Since I can't have a real Christmas tree, the smell of a fire really brings some Christmas spirit into our house! One thing I didn't post yet was the news that our family is one bigger...
That's right, all of Glenn's dreams have come true this year. We got a dog. She is a boxer puppy about 12 weeks old and we love her. She is very cuddly especially with Olivia and this is the position we usually find them in. Olivia will sit in her chair just to let Cleo come and snuggle between her legs. Cleo is her name... Cleopatra really but we call her Cleo.

Now for presents. I decided to post some pictures of what I am making for Olivia for Christmas, since she doesn't use the computer and because I am quite proud of them. When my Grandmother died a year ago I inherited some old patterns, two of which were doll patters. So with left over fabric from other projects I made 13 beautiful dresses for a doll she already has. I must point out that although I didn't have top buy any fabric, I did buy over 9 yards of lace (which I found on sale)
2 sets of PJ's with robes
3 everyday dresses
2 jumpers to go over the everyday dresses
Example of jumper over dress
one super fancy dress with slip (which took almost 4 yards of lace)
Close up of super fancy dress
semi-fancy dress with slip.
Some of you may recognize some of the fabric from quilts I have made (Maria) but most fabric was left over from dresses I made for Olivia or skirts I made for myself. I was impressed with how much fabric I was saving, Glenn on the other hand could not figure out why I had so much scrap fabric.

A little more Halloween

I had just a few more pictures of Olivia and her friends from our ward Halloween party that were just to cute so here is one last post of Halloween before we move onto Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Olivia was adorable as a bee and she loved the costume. Thanks again to Ashley for letting us borrow it!
Olivia and "friend" Sophie at our ward Halloween party.

Olivia and Glenn Fishing. The ward had a small carnival for the kids at the party. It was so fun to see Olivia get so excited for each of the games.

Olivia, Sophie, and James at the party.
After trunk-or-treating Glenn sat down with the girls while Sophie's daddy was still handing out candy.

She loved wearing the antenna and wings.
I am still not sure what she was doing in this picture.
Carving pumpkins with Daddy and uncle William.
Okay, that's all the Halloween pictures I have. Next is CHRISTMAS!!!! Well Thanksgiving first, but I am getting so excited for Christmas!
